Rear light recommendations
Hi guys - I've already got clusters on the rear of my GSXR Indy but they're causing me grief! They got me through the SVA but I'd
like a more obvious brake light too!
The wiring loom connections are so close to the rear wheel that the wires are wearing through on a daily basis!
I've made a temporary fix but ideally need to change the clustsers.
I don't want to have the boxy cheap rear clustsers but I can't stretch to the rather nice Westfield carbon- look ones!
Any recommendations??
These are my present ones...

Is there anyway you could alter the back of your lights to avoid the wheel? Bend the connectors out the way etc?

Thanks for that guys!
Si - Just what I did earlier. Have cut down the collar on the rear of the light and have carefully bent the pins to the right, away from the wheel.
I've got my MOT tomorrow and as long as my fix lasts to then. Damn thing was shorting out my fuse, and taking my horn and hazards with it too!
Hopefully it'll not rub through 'til I'm on my way BACK from the MOT!!
Thanks again
Michael

Hi Mark - I didn't buy them myself but it would appear that s-v-c sell them!!
Mine are Hella's so may not be indentical but they're damn close!
Well take mine off but I have modified the rear now to help the tyre rubbing the back of them!
Cheers

Grease the connectors up lol, might slip instead of rubbing!
Or let the tyres down a bit

Could you space them away from the wheel arch imbetween the back of the light and the front face of the wheel arch with some foam or washers so the
lights don't hang through the back as far?

Good call!
I could easily knock up some acrylic rings to space out the light - excellent - Thanks for that! I'll have a look around at work for some decent
thickness black plastic tomorrow. Brill!
Don't you hate it when you just want to do something else on the car but it's just too late?!

We had a similar problem to yours with the Hella rear lights. We got round it by bonding the inner unit to the back of the outer LED rings using PU
adhesive. Our spacers are also a bit deeper than yours appear to be. They are nowhere near the tyre at all now.

That's exactly what I need!!
Superb!
Where did you get your spacers from Hellfire? I see you have two LED rings too...looks a lot better like that too!
many thanks

Whilst surfing the net I came across a car called a Marcos TSO with what looks suspiciously like the Hella LED rear lights in question mounted in a
neat red Ferrari style lamp holder.
I don't know if this is made specifically for the Marcos but it looks pretty neat (sorry haven't got a picture).
The only thing is that it appears to fit into an internal hollow on the Marcos bodywork rather than an external curve which would suit a Seven type
rear mudguard.

The mountings are made by LEP and have to be slightly modified to allow the Hella outer to be fitted, but the diamter is correct.
Hellfire and some others may have seen the new Hella LED outer stop AND tail lights, and the even newer Hella Premium Range of LED stop/tail outers
with new inners we were showing at Harrogate. Will be and Donnington if you missed them.
All the best from sVc

Thanks so much for all your help guys!
Got KC through the MOT today so all's well for the next 12 months!
I'm at the KC show at Donnington next next weekend so I'll see what companies have available!
