Brake Lights Staying On
Went out in the Tiger last night to fill her up with petrol below taking her down for a tune up this morning and got caught in a shower.
Get up this morning start her up and the brake lights are permanently on.
Any simple suggestions so i can start looking.

Are your brake lights wired switched-live or switched-earth?
If switched-live, I would look for sogginess at the brake switch and its connector.
If switched-earth, look for any 'wet earths' along the switched wire.

Check the brake light switch isn't catching and sticking or being effected by water (water bridging the connection internally in the switch?).

I'd try looking at the switch connections, clean, dry etc, you're getting a live feed and a good earth at the lights so with you
mentioning the shower water might have entered the switch connections

If the switch works off hydraulic pressure rather than mechanically from the pedal it could be a dinged brake pipe.

Disconnect the switch...
are the lights still on??
if yet its not the switch!
if no you know its the switch..
you can test it with a ohm meter..

Don't make life more complicated than it needs to be!
First step - pull the connector(s) off the brake switch. Does the light go out? If it does, the problem's with the switch. If not, the
wiring's suspect.
If you think it's the switch, have a good look at where the connector plugs in and see if it's wet, or if dirt has been washed in and
mucked everything up. Dry and/or clean, as appropriate.
If it isn't the switch, trace the wiring back and look for wet and/or dirt. If you have in-line connectors, pull them apart and put a test bulb
in line to see which way the power's coming from.

Just a guess but you need to fit a return spring to a brake pedal.

That was my first thought too, no go though i'm afraid.
Stupid question i know but being new to the kit car game i will plead ignorance.
Where is the brake switch in a Tiger Cat E1.

Depends what type is fitted. It can either be fitted on/behind the pedal and just pushes shut, or it can be pressure activated via the brake lines
somewhere.

Spoke to the guy i bought the car from and he explained that is was a cylinder type switch behind the pedal, goes into a hole and quarter turns.
Just need to sort out the indicators now, decided that the front right one wont work, thought ok maybe the buld. Guess what it's not the
builb.

Teething troubles.
It's not your car if you don't have to sort out a few niggles. If the rear and side indicators work it can only be the wire or the holder
then. Take a live from the back of the side repeater and join it to the front, if that doesn't fix it it's the earth. Have you tried the
bulb in another socket or just looked at the filament as I've had them fail despite looking intact.

I know i expect it and quite like it to a degree. Yep tried the bulb in another fitting. Going to have a look tonight when it has stopped bloody
raining.

All sorted, the brakes was the switch near the pedal, had come out of place. And the indicators was just a male and female had come apart.
All sorted!
