Loom Covering
If there is little modification to the standard escort loom, is there any point in adding a conduit cover, or is it OK as is for the SVA man? This one
is in good nick

As long as any alterations are deemed as 'safe' you will be fine. The loom needs to be protected with loom tape, pvc sleeve, heatshrink
etc.

I completely stripped my escort loom down, took out all of the redundant circuits completely then added in any extra one that were needed like fog
lights, electric fan, side repeaters and all of the electronics for the dashboard were reconfigured to use individual switches and an acewell
digidash. I used some 8 core cable to run to the back of the car, completely replacing the old escort one.
I have then wrapped the whole lot back up in non sticky PVC loom tape. OEM manufactirers use it, so I see no reason why you cant use it in your
car.
