Brake warning lights

My red warning light flashes on intermittently. The previous owner says it has done so for several months, and thinks its electrical....anyone got any ideas?...........i'm not electricy minded...

The light comes on with a connection to earth. The other side of the light is a switched live feed which is always on when the ignitions on.

Check the handbrake switch and the switch on the float. Other wise check the wire to the handbrake switch hasnt chaffed though on something and it shorting onto the chassis.
