O/T flasher relay

the flasher relay in the tintop has started misbehaving, banging on and off repeatedly. Trouble is someone has modified it in the past. Its meant to be a 3 pin one, but currently has a 4 pin one with a wire soldered onto the spare leg. Wire seems to go to a small bulb, which flashes once when you indicate but doesnt go with the flashers.

Any ideas whats going on here?

my 406 has a random green light down by the little pocket to the lower right of the steering wheel which flashes with hazards but not with the indicators, i figured its for indicating your trailer lights are working too.

this is a citroen ax with no towbar. Im sure someone has fitted the light so they can use a 4 pin relay for some reason. Might just try a 3 pin one anyway.
