Megasquirt MSnS
HI All
okay i have a megasquirt sytem, but i dont think i will ever get round to fitting the VX, with fuel inj but can i use it just for the ign side of
things for now with mbike carbs.
its been alterered (extra resistor for running everything)
would i be better selling and just using the 8v vx ign or megajolt systems.

Yes you can use the Megasquirt with Megasquirt 'n' Spark Extra firmware just for ignition. If you want a distributorless setup you need
to have the second VB921 coil driver installed.
As you already have the unit, it's a better solution than using the 8v ignition because you can ditch the bulky distributor and you can program
it with the correct ignition map (the 8v one won't be correct).
It better in some respects than the Megajolt system because you can use the existing 60-2 trigger wheel, rather than having to mess around with a 36-1
trigger wheel on the crank pulley. It also has a hard rev limiter built in, the MJ can only do soft limiting without some extra circuitry.
