If I remember rightly you need to put the key in and turn it round to start position. Hold it there and then there is a pin on the side of the barrel
that you push in to free it.

You have to depress a small spring /plunger in the side of the barrel after turning the key to IIRC pos 2. Look for a small hole in the body and
depress the spring through that

I tried the pin thing with mine, but couldnt get it out for some reason. The pin is round and at the keyhole end IIRC.
I ended up cutting mine off with the angry grinder anyway

Got a new barrel with 2 keys of fleebay for less than £20.00, with the new barrel in hand its easy to work out where the plunger is.

The pin in the little hole will depress and release the barrel at position 1.
If it doesn't there is something wrong with the barrel.

The flats on the key correspond to numbers. My key was worn out but the key man on the local market looked at it and put the numbers into his machine,
perfect working key. It's the size of the flats on the shaft.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

liverpool sounds a good idea
thats why i cant get it out my switches are in the way so i didnt see the proper hole i was trying underneath will have a go at that later.
thats what he did with the numbers but when we looked closely at the original one flat was slightly worn so i think the lock may be the same but will
see what he says when i have got the barrel out
thanks guys will let you know how i get on

You can always just junk it and fit push button via dash mounted key switch and immobiliser. Ive had the original casting machined on lathe and
polished (you need it is it houses the column upper bearing).
