Voltage stabiliser - Triumph instruments to Escort loom

I know that this is an old issue, so someone will put me right! Keep in mind I am a simpleton re wiring!
Can somebody please tell me how to wire Triumph fuel & temperature guages into an escort Mk2 loom using a voltage stabiliser? I have a new MG voltage stabiliser which has 2 sets of connections on the back, 1 labelled I & the other B. I have the original black & yellow wire in the loom that I believe supplied the voltage stabiliser on the back of the Escort instruments, but I do not know what wires connect to what terminals either on the stabiliser or on the guages!

google is your friend.

there are 3 contacts - two you have already mentioned and a common earth - this is doen via t he body - there should be a tab that touches the instrument when it is fitted.

one of the contacts is 12 V in, the otehr is switched 12 V so that it averages out to 10 V - I would need to search more to find out which one but you can do that.

It figure out wiring, measure resistance between tag and earth for both. input will be quite hirgh but output will be low as it is a metal contact. Or connect to 12 V - if fuse blows, then fit otther way round.

Alternatively go to maplins and buy solid state regulator for 60 p (only do 9 V whcih should be ok - they also sell adjustable ones if you really want 10 V).
