Propshaft Seems Too Short (Type 9 box & Sierra LSD setup)??
Hi folks,
Im running a type 9 box and a sierra LSD and I bought a "Panther" propshaft from rally design and after setting everything up it seems 2
or 3 inches too short. It is meant for the type 9 box and sierra LSD and I (wrongly) presumed it would be a standard size that should fit. The chassis
has book measurements.
Any ideas why and does anyone know if there are longer kitcar propshafts out there which will fit my setup and can be bought new?
Cheers,
Matt

I don't know how much you paid for the GTS prop, but there are many companies that will make you one to suit your car.
I bought mine from Autoprop.

Made to measure, took 3 days from order. Cost £125 including delivery and VAT etc.
Highly recommended.

more than telling him to "BUY BUY BUY" you should rather deal with the problem in hand.
i have the same problem, my prop is about 2 inches too short. my solution came in the form of shifting the engine/'box combo further backwards
as much as i could and then i shall make a disc, drilled to size to cover the remaining gap between the prop flange and diff flange, of course having
in mind that it should be balanced and stuff... thats the easiest way to deal with short props IMO...
failing that: "BUY BUY BUY"
hope that helps.
cheers

Don't forget that the prop does not go all the way into the box, you should have upto 1 1/2 inches showing.
You can have as little as 1/2 inch so about an inch of leaway.
Like the idea of the spacer, could also double as a speedo sensor wheel or mounting place for speedo magnets and even a pully for a diff oil cooler
pump, or with a bike engine a reverse motor
