Fuel sender/gauge reading reduction

I have a TIM fuel gauge on a MK1 Escort van tank/sender and it’s reading double. Assuming I can insert a resistor into the circuit, what spec/type would I need to halve it?

Thanks folks

I'm looking on with interest as I need to do a simlar thing.

I need my sender to push out

11-13 ohms on full tank
52-58 1/2 tank
114-120 low tank
130-132 empty

So an answer to your question should help me out

cheers.

Murray
