Fitting fan sensor outside tubes?
I have a cappilary fan switch setup and have tried to fit the probe into the top radiator hose as it says in the rather poor instructions....But under
pressure it just leaks out of the hose where the sensor goes in, even with the jubilee clip tight...
I have an inline filler neck like this one:
Could I use some kind of heat conductive compound and mount the sensor on the outside of the filler housing tube and then wrap it in
insulation?...Would just have to hope there is enough adjustment in the sensor to compensate for the heatloss caused by the metal...
Is there any other way of fitting these cappilary type senders inside pipes without it pissing out everywhere?

On some temperature sensor kits (bulb type) you get a rubber sleeve that fits over the connector tube before you put the sensor in place, radiator
hose etc. The rubber sleeve has enough give in it to give a good seal even when the sensor tube is in place.

I do have the rubber sleeve that would do the job, but there is no way on this planet you would be able to slide the top hose over the top of it if
its sat on the radiator inlet!

I've got a similar setup with my Davies Craig pump controller. It leaked badly until I discovered the secret - a dab of PU adhesive around the
wire where it touches the hose.
Cheers,
