Depends on what it is for. I do not use insulation tape for insulating as it always comes loose after a time! O.k for wraping loom (better to use loom
tape though none sticky stuff).. For insulating terminals I use heatshrink.
Cheers

Self-amalgamating tape and heat shrink from the likes of Maplins is OK for loom wrapping or you can buy loom tape from the likes of Vehicle Wiring
Products. Cheers, Pewe

I used it for rewinding parts of the loom that I'd changed and had no questions asked.

I wouldn't use insulating tape . After a while it gets either hard and brittle or horribly sticky. Also I don't think under-bonnet
temperatures would do it much good

Some of the best quality tapes are pretty good and will last the distance. You get what you pay for so give eBay a miss and order from an electrical
supply company and get the proper stuff.
Having said that I always use heatshrink where possible - that is as permanent as you want it to be.

I'll second loom wrapping tape - with some heat shrink on the ends to keep it tidy...

I'd second loom tape aswell, although the last lot of tape I bought from an engineering/e;ectrical place seemed to be a lot better than the
norm!

I was just SVAd lat the beginning of the month and the tester said her didn't like to see acres of insulating tape - preferred proper loom tape
and self-amalg. His view was that insulating tape pointed to 'bodging'
