koso rx1n rev counter
hi all
been messing around with the above today ive got everything working
one problem with it though is the rev counter is all over the place cant get a stable readfing
orginaly wired to the rpm wire from the blade ecu. works but eratic
wraped the wire around no1 spark plug lead . works but still erratic actually tried all the leads
wired it staight to the coil that feeds 1&4 leads still erratic
anyone eles got this problem or knows a fix for it.

No answer as such but i have a KOSO dash, not the same one(see my photo archive) but mine is also jumpy, my mates one is too, tried everything.
May just be how they are?
Shift light made it irrelevant for me but its nice to know!

mine is the same, tried various methods as above but all give the same symptoms, mine is wrapped round number 1 plug lead and is erratic on tick over
but much better when it is being driven. LOoks as though they are all the same.

That is not good. I was looking at getting a set of these clocks. Maybe I will have to try and find the 929 Stock Clocks after all

are all you guys running Bike engines? i have just got a dash but will be running it on a rotary engine

mine is a 919 blade
as i say ive tried all methods i know cant think of any more,sometimes its worse than others

my vapor one is the same, installed an autometer one instead

Just read this on the acewell FAQ page which may help.

Disconnect the sensor wire at the engine and see if it still jumps around. If it does, check that it doesn't touch any HT leads, and try

use the inner wire as the sender - ensure that the least amount of wire possible protrudes from the mesh.

around the spark plug lead. - Try both methods
If you are wrapping the sensor wire around the spark plug lead then do not strip the insulation from the wire, and try various number of coils between
2 and 10 to see which gives the best reading.
If the spark strength is too high, you may also get strange readings, try inserting a 1 Meg ohm resistor between the Acewell and the sensor wire (and
then both pickup methods)
Depending on the vehicle, you will find that one of the above gives the most pleasing results.

Has anyone tried this advice?
Mine is also all over the place. Its fairly good to about 3k then doesnt want to move past that.
Not too much of an issue but Id like the rev light to work.
Also, SVA wise, do they use their own rev counter or rely on the one fitted?
