What is best way to re-wrap 'Busa loom?

Hi All,

I have stripped out my 'Busa loom and will need to re-wrap it. Has any one any ideas/experience on the best way to wrap looms for looks and longevity?

I've seen spiral wrap, convoluted tube, self amalgamating tape, insulation tape, expanding mesh tubes etc. etc. but would appreciate your views on what is most tidy and effective under the bonnet, and what lasts.

Clive.

I've always used proper loom tape from premier. Makes it so much easier if you have to open it up again later on with only the ends 'stuck' with insulating tape.

Never had any water/muck ingrestion problems.

The best looking stuff I've ever seen is Polyester expandable braided sleeve.

I used self-amalgamating tape and would NOT recommend it.

It did the job Ok and it looks Ok but it stays sticky on the outside for ages and will try to 'amalgamate' with just about anything it is in long term contact with

I like the look of the expandable braided sleeve. Do you know if it is easy to fit on a loom that still has all its connector plugs on? Presumably I would have to cut big holes in it in various places to get the plugs through?

Excellent info! I'll certainly strike that off the list!

Well yes, but that wouldn't be the way I'd do it - I'd use two pieces - one before the connector exiting the loom and one after and overlap them and secure with a single piece of tape or heat shrink.
