VDO Gauge Connctions

To anyone who's fitted VDO clocks :-

According to the VDO data sheet, the rear connections are i) ign switch live to "B", ii) sensor feed to "T", and iii) earth, as marked.

However, my VDO gauges have the following markings on the back :-
i) "G", ii) "+", and iii) what looks like an inverted "T".

AFAIR, the last one, (iii), is another version of earth (or "ground", in some foreign parts).

So, can anyone advise me what connects to "G" and "+"?

Thanks for any feedback.

AFAIK

G= ground
+= Positive
T or S = Signal

hope that helps

... except it is not a T but an inverted T like symbol.

I recommend you contact VDO or someone who supplies VDO guages.

Can you post photo? Usually the ground will be connected to the case.

G(S) is sensor, + is switched live and the upside down T with the fat crossbar is ground as you had worked out. My small gauges have the blades on the back arranged in a U shape. Looking at the rear of the gauge 12v feed on the left upright, ground across the bottom and sensor on right upright.
(Marked on my oil pressure sensor as G(S) to gauge, WK to oil warning light)

Dusty and BillHoll,
Many thanks for your advice.

Dusty - my gauges have exactly the same layout and markings as you described. Will re-check my dash panel wiring, just to be sure.
