pinto dizzy black thing ?

Hi i have a pinto dizzy with a black thing inline with the wire that goes to the points its about the size of a postage stamp What is it ? cheers for any answers Rick

if it isn't the condensor then it could be some sort of radio intertfetrence suppressor

Yep, radio supressor, you can disconnect it, throw it away & save the weight!!!

Will also cut down on voltage loss in the low tension curcuit by losing it . Would suggest fitting a small earth lead between the distributor base plate and one of the points securing screws which helps with cold starting etc
