Ignition and push start button???
Hi all,
With my Indy now on the road i plan to start tarting it up. One thing i have bought is a panel with an ignition and starter switch on. I want to
loose the ignition barrel and the need for a key (plenty of security on there). The switches i have got are rated at 25amp.... will this be ok? My
Mk has an R1 2000 engine in.
Any advice would be great
Cheers
Adam

Starters run off a 'signal' only, so no high current being used, i'd say you woould be fine.

i dont think many car systems run off more than 25 amps. but might be worthing buying a specific ign spec'd switch?
but to be honest im using these for mine and no probs so far

I used a cheapo switch. Didn't last long mind!!! The starter switch only carries the current required to power the solenoid.

you can always wire in a heavy relay to your 25A switch if you think you might use more. Depends on your lighting and wiring loom (some relais or none
at all)
