anybody running a kit with a mondeo 2.0 black top engine if so what ecu are you using and also what wiring loom?
i have been told that the ecu i have got from the donor car wont work because the car had its own alarm system.

Sounds corect, that will be the Ford Pats system
If you have the key to go with the ecu then you may be able to use it
If you get an ecu from an older pre pats car then its not so hard to wire up

thanks for the replies.
bigwasa, i have the key and full wiring loom but i spoke to premier looms and they said the best solution is to get one of their looms and use an
older ecu. do you know which ecu to look for?

I would suggest an early mondeo of the same engine size...

Last Ford stand alone ECU was found in cvh engined Orions and Escorts from the early 90's. ECU can be identified by cvh engine with carb and
current coil pack arrangement.
