hi iv bought a Haynes roadster chasis and im going to try and convert it to run a rover k series and i was wondering if anyone had built one so i could look at some pictures to work out how to mount the engine any pictures if anyone has done it would be apreciated
Search the members list. Humbug has a K Series.
Caterham did this for years, I would research this and copy what they did
I used to... sold it a couple of months ago. Mine was a Stuart Taylor with standard 1.4 K series - not a huge amount of power, but good enough with a light engine and a light car, and still reasonable mpg and road tax!
i was just looking at your pictures i think i have got an idea or two now on how to mount the engine i got to say it looked a nice car mine wont be going on the road thoe its a shame but i know my engine would fail badly on emisions
Unless thre is something badly wrong with the engine then it should be OK as long as you keep the pre-cat and a catted silencer for IVA? I did SVA and, since there was no mention of emissions on the V5C I took both off a while afterwards.
If you checkout the 'k upgrade' folder in my photo archive you'll find a few shots of how I did my engine mounts. Mobile phone pics so not brilliant but good enough to get the idea....
i would have to either get another engine and swap them over after the sva or seriously detune the engine thanks for your help so far guys
thanks for the pictures Geoff t
