Almost complete, just the boot panel to somehow fit around the cage !
Just noticed i need to repaint the cage and finish painting the wheels !
That looks the mutts nuts
Very nice example. I really like the GRP bodywork shape too
Thanks. The Equinox Bodywork is very nice!!
Looking great Ben.
Dave looks like he turns out a quality product and you've made a good job of fitting it.
its about bloody time. when you coming out to play then?
Very soon I hope. Few things to sort. It's still not circulating coolant properly I think. Think I have something wrong with plumbing.
Looks really good!
The front hoop of your roll bar looks really low though!
Mark.
It's perfect of me as my seat is low. Don't like rollcages that sit high up.
Looking good Ben
How come it is on a 1971 (J) registration number? Have you had it for IVA and had a brand new number, then swopped it for a private plate ?
Regards
Jon
It's a rebuild from my original car, just kept chassis. Changed engine etc etc.
Winter upgrades changed engine and bodywork.
I used escort mk1 engine, box etc and managed to get a age related.

First drive to work - 60 miles this morning. No issues touch wood
Hi, I have just bought Equinox bodywork. The side panels came with a huge lip at the front of the side panels which go under the chassis. Did you fit
your side panels completely flush with the side of the chassis or did you fix the edge of the lip flush with BR1 and BR2 or somewhere in between flush
with the side and lining up the lip? Hope this makes sense! thanks

Hi the side panels should be fitted tight to the chassis then the lip can be cut to fit the chassis exactly. That's why they designed it like
that
It also means you can flare your side panels (at back of engine bay) to vent heat if you want too, which is what I've done
Brilliant thanks, there's a lot of body work to be cut off then 😀
I don't quite get what you mean about flaring out the side panels towards the back on the engine bay?
Like that ......
That makes sense, I have been considering how to vent the engine bay, that's not a bad idea! Thanks
Many bonnet vents help too
New Road View
But then I have got a turbo that heats the engine bay up nicely!
Hi there,
Angry looking car you have there! Are the front fenders from Equinox as well?
No unfortunately. I bought them from eBay quite cheap
Nice looking car, is this the old Saturn kit? If not anyone know where that kit went and whether their mx5 chassis is still around?
No mate. This is equinox body kit. Lot better quality than the old Saturn stuff.
This will fit the mx5 chassis too
Went to Gilham who then sold it to another company who I forget their name.
I used to have a Saturn back panel but the moulds aren't very good and it was very thin.
