Hi guys,

What et are you running on your wheels?
So will be looking for some wheels, PCW 108, 15" etc.
Looking for some that will bring the wheel out to fill up the rear arches etc.

Cheers!

Not sure what you're building, kit, self-built locost etc?

I built a Sierra based MK Indy kit and used ET (offset) wheels (15" wheels, donor Sierra wheels were 14" to match those specified for the Sierra. As the kit was designed for the Sierra the wheels filled the front and rear arches nicely. In fact for the front cycle wings I had to cut small notches away from the inner fibreglass lips for the metal mounting brackets to get the cycle wings centralised over the wheels.

What donor parts are/have you used?

The donor car will have had a recommeded ET (offset) for the sheels. If you go too far away from this you risk putting too much strain on wheel bearings and other suspension joints.

Hi ya,

It's a Haynes Roadster, running all sierra running gear.

Cheers

In that case I'd stick with Sierra ET (Offset) wheels. If you're worried about filling the rear arches then I'd br more inclined to look for another set of rear arches to suit the wheels, not the other way round.

The Sierra is a wide car, I'm surprised your struggling to fill the arches

Fair point, but we don't know what rear arches "the_big_1" is sing. They may be wider than usual creating more space to fill. That's where I'd be back to changing the arches rather than messing with wheel ET (offset).

Just measure whats there. Its an easy calc to work out the spec of the wheels you need.

I have sierra based MAC#1 with Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 15" wheels, offset is ET-38 I believe. No spacers. They fill the arches perfectly.

Hi ya all. The kit was from Als locost body shop.
If I measure the width of the weel arch at its widest point at the top of the arch, can anyone let me know if it's bigger than there's???

Charlie_Zetec - 1/6/21 at 11:47 PM

You want an offset of ET35-38 to suit Sierra suspension.

the_big_1 - 2/6/21 at 06:18 PM

Hi ya,

Can anyone check theirs, My rear arches measure 300mm wide at the top from body to outer edge, just so I can judge if they are average or wide etc.
Going to take rear wheel off tomorrow to.see what it's offset is.

Cheers!
