Evening all,
I have been advised that the standard valve springs are not any good for an upgraded cam such as the BCF2 on a Ford cross flow 1600 head. I was told
they should be double valve springs or at least a stronger spring than the standard?
Can anyone shed any light on weather this is just an advisory or an essential?
Cheers
Nick
Check Burtons catalogue. I think they do a stronger single valve spring for BCF2 cam.
Hi
If you buy a new kit it should come with the required springs/doubles
personly, i run standard springs on a 270 cam, but keep the max revs to 7k
any more than 7k and the valves /springs bounce even with double coils, plus the power output up at 7k, is lower than 6.5k, so why bother ?
The springs in my BCF2 kit were singles , engine occasionally revs to 7,000rpm .As said have a look at the Burtons catalogue
