Haynes single seater at Stoneleigh
jabbahutt - 9/3/10 at 12:21 PM

Afternoon all

Just wondered if anyone knew if there'd be any kind of appearance at Stoneleigh of Chris Gibbs single seater as the books out later this year and there hasn'rt been any new news for a while.

ashg - 9/3/10 at 12:29 PM

i believe chris is a bit unwell at the moment. i know the bodywork is done and ready to go so that might be at the stonleigh show

this is the bodywork

ashg - 9/3/10 at 12:31 PM

cd.thomson - 9/3/10 at 12:37 PM

i think theres a bit of cinkychento in there but thats all i know

ashg - 9/3/10 at 12:44 PM

think its sierra front hubs chain diff rear. best of all its designed for bike power. plenty of space for a busa lump if you so desire aiming to weigh in at 450kg ish

BenB - 9/3/10 at 12:47 PM

I want two. And a track. Racing time

stevec - 9/3/10 at 12:48 PM

Theres not many things that would tempt me to sell the Indy but I fancy some of that.
Will fat blokes fit in them?
Steve

MikeR - 9/3/10 at 12:52 PM

I really want one...

although i think the nose needs to be wider, about a foot wider

With a liberal smattering of grease and a huge shoehorn, then anythings possible!

Does anyone know if this has been designed to pass the IVA?

I see it has indicators, but no headlights.

I suppose it could be a side mounted bike engine, using a very short prop!!!

The rear picture looks like a normal diff shape.

I've been planning on building a single seater for the last year, going to wait for the book to come out now, i think.

Got most bits to complete the build!!! weirdly i even have a body!!!

jabbahutt - 9/3/10 at 01:05 PM

damn why can't I see photos, thuis keeps happening all I get is the red cross in a white box, can someone please help I want to see the photos!!

With regards to IVA, Im pretty sure it'll be road legal.

jabbahutt - 9/3/10 at 01:16 PM

can't access photo bucket in work, it's one of the many sites banned.

Sounds like there are some photos that I haven't seen before, anyone able to post them from a locost photo archive as I have no problem viewing them.

Cheers

I thought that for IVA the indicators (on sevens, anyway) would have to be on the wings? Anyway, if you wanted full lighting you could easily have headlights on a bar/bracket as per Locosts. With a bit of ingenuity you could probably make them detachable

jabbahutt - 9/3/10 at 01:42 PM

photos anyone?

russbost - 9/3/10 at 01:49 PM

But it's a single seater - you have to have no mates!!!

welderman - 9/3/10 at 02:02 PM

I can see your project diary in my head:
"Spent 23 1/2 hours today, squeezing a jag engine into a single seater. No room for a driver, but I've got the worlds biggest R/C racing car."

....I'm assuming this was mildly tongue in cheek!

scootz - 9/3/10 at 07:49 PM

Was that 'mildly, or 'wildly'???

Steve Hignett - 9/3/10 at 08:41 PM
