Chevron 7 alike with single seater styling

Just saw this car and thought it might be of interest on here. Kind of a seven thats reproduced with a single seater of the 60s era.

Steve.

Raring to go – Chevron B1 Mk2

The ultimate 1960s Clubman’s racer, the Chevron B1, has been reborn as a production roadster by marque owner Chevron Racing Cars.

The original B1 was built to beat the then all-conquering Lotus 7, which it did – first time out. Part of the B1’s secret was independent rear suspension, in contrast to the live axle arrangement characterising its ‘7’ contemporaries.

The Chevron B1 Mk2 is powered by Ford’s 1.6 litre four-cylinder, single overhead camshaft RoCam unit. It is being shown in production prototype guise at Race Retro. The car in its finalised form will be revealed in a few weeks time.

The development programme is now in its last, fine tuning phases. Performance figures and definitive specification will be released when road and track testing have been finally completed.

In the meantime, light weight, low centre of gravity, minimum frontal area, front mid-engine layout, 95 bhp, 101 lb/ft of torque at 2,500 rpm and a five-speed gearbox combine to promise the performance and agility that will put a smile on your face – and keep it there.

Um, not sure if they've really got the look sorted. I thought it looked a bit parts-bin.

Sorry, I meant I'm undecided - it looks ok on its own but out of place with the rest of the car- almost like they have pushed three cars together and used photshop to stretch the bits that don't quite meet.

FRONT mid-engined. Engine is in front of the driver but behind the front axle.

to me its not one or the other, might aswell have the roadster or other 7esque car, or wait for the single seater that chris gibbs is designing , at least that will "look" like its been designed to be a single seater from the drawing board & engine behind the driver as a single seater should be, this car in my opinion has an identity crisis.

guess what i,m waiting to build?
Haynes single seater

That is one of the best looking car fronts ever. The rear is the kamm style of the time, done for aerodynamics rather then looks.

Love it

I saw it at Stoneleigh a couple of years ago, the quality was excellent but I didn't really "get on" with the style. I like the front but the rest is a bit disjointed for me.

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
