cheaper suspansion?
Hi all.. im Emrah from Turkey. I m planning to build super7 but i have some questions. Hope you can help me
In turkey everything about car is so expensive so i trying to find a way to make it cheaper.
Suspansion is very expensive.In haynes book i read it i can buy coilovers from mk engineering but its 400 euro + custom tax to Tr. So is there any
cheap suspansion for haynes roadster? From another car? 2. Hand but good for driving? I think sierra suspansion is not fit to my car isnt it?

you could use the Tofos running gear as this is a common car in turkey withe rear wheeled drive. some early seven types used the springs and sprink
pans from the Ford Cortina / or Taunus I believe they are called in Turkey.
What part of Turkey are you located Im visiting there in the next 4 weeks going to Fetiyhe

Im going to buy sierra 2.0 for donor car so i want to take differatial from sierra. But you said that i can use shock absorbers and springs from
tofas?
Btw i have r53 mini cooper gp absorbers and springs . Can i use this in my roadster?
Im living in izmir. Fethiye is a great place to visit. Sea and forest together. You must go everywhere near of fethiye especially patara beach.

You can use mono shocks off the rear of motorcycles, sports bikes are hard, but some enduro ones are probably okay.

Isn't there a kit that uses the mx5 as a donor, including the front and rear sub chassis/suspension? I guess that would be cheapest overall
build.

The rear subframe from an MX5 actually works quite well with a 7 build, I'm sure I've seen a couple where it only needs a few changes to
the chassis to bolt the subframe in place. The front would spoil a 7 though.

Turkey is a very different country.  Mx-5 prices about 8000 euro so i should buy Sierra (it costs about 1200 euro)
because of this i should find a cheap coilovers..
Which way is the best ?
Ford Taunus shock absorbers? or motorcycle rear absorbers?..
if answer is motorcycle absorbers, Which brand is ok for my roadster. There is cheap absorbers i can found in market but i think its not good for
car
For example 150cc motorbikes (yamaha ybr, honda cbf)
Actually if Ford taunus(1976-1993) fits my car good im very happy because its very cheap in Tr

Saturn dida version of the haynes but with mx5 donor, think it is in new hands now, sorry can't remember who but may be equinox or talon. Also
vodou did one, think you can buy plans from them, not sure if they do made parts though.

Go for the best shocks/dampers you can afford. At the end of the day, they are what keep the wheels on the ground and give the tyre it's ability
to provide acceleration/brakign and cornering traction.
Unfortunately our cars are not really like many others - being much lighter and hence very few have springs/dampers that will suit. Most will be
running much harder springs and bike shcoks are very stiff.
Shcoks do seem like they are very expensive, but they really can make the difference between a pig and a fantastic handling car.

i think need motorbike shock. which is mounted not at the wheel etc, but before
the wheel in frame etc
Or you can use simple shocks and put on them springs etc
etc
or just wait sellers which sells used shocks for 50-100 gbp and try to send via couriers to your country

If Taunus is more available and cheaper in Turkey then go for it, but then you should follow Ron Champions book. With the saved money on donor I also
advise to by proper shock absorbers.

i searched the taunus engines but its different than sierras.
Sierra (1985-1982) is have (TL20EFI) with injection --(engine codes NRB, N4A, N4B, N4I)
Taunus have Lima OHC (LL) . Because lots of taunus in Turkey is beggining from 1989-90
İs it a good donor car ? or best way is buying a sierra ?
