Yeah, I see what your saying, do you think one diagonal is enough or would a cross be better?

You're making good progress. In theory one diagonal should be sufficient and doubt it makes a difference to our cars. In theory I suppose you
should consider the direction in which the upright is trying to resist and get the members in the correct tension/compression states. In reality we
know the standard roadster design is proven (well mine hasn't fallen apart in 1500miles fingers crossed!). Personally I wouldn't both with
the tube straight across at the upright end and got for a x-brace as belt and braces(excuse the pun) for little weight penalty . If you think about
it, once the bolt is through the rod ends you have effectively put a solid brace across the upright end.

Yeah I see what your saying but I'm going to have the tube across at the upright end as it's just more area around the rod end tube for
welding, also I think just one diagonal as like you say it's proven because my first attempt closed in when welding and was hard to open back
out, it tells you in the book which way to have them, I think it's outside rear to inside front
