ECU/MIL/CEL light present on '98 dash

I'm repalcing the dash on my MX5 track car and i thought there was an led on the dash to indicate if there was a fault.

However, when i remove all the bulbs and hold the dash up to the light, i don't see any engine or spanner symbol. I see ABS and what looks like 2 airbag warnings, seat belt etc but no ecu/mil etc

Does a 1998 car have such a light.

Upon further investigation, my dash connectors match P17 on this diagram http://neomiata.com/garage/Wiring%20Diagrams/Wiring%20Diagrams%201997-2000/1997_Miata%20System%20Wiring%20Diagrams.pdf

It shows towards top left corner 'check engine ind', and this seem to connect to point 20 lower in the diagram. This seems to connect to the 'drl control module' - is this the ecu to you and me ?
