Build started! Kinda!

Hey guys! Dave here during lockdown#1 we bought a house that we have since been renovating, and now that we are in we can concentrate on the outside.

The first few posts will be the rebuild of the Man cave!

This is what I was faced with when I bought the house, Garage roof was on the floor and the concrete raft was cracked and subsided along the full 10m length of the garage, so that wasn't going to do, not for me anyway

So one of the labourer's decided it would be fun to knock it down one day

That was last year since then I have been waiting for the council to decide if we needed planning permission to rebuild it.

2 weeks ago we got the go ahead so before they changed their minds

Blimey - this is a 'scratch build' thread where you build the garage first before starting the car

You are clicking the 'insert image' icon and then pasting the web address in there aren't you? :-

Cheers
Tony

The house needed EVERYTHING so was back to bare brick, ceilings out, Floors up, roof off, new water main in, re-wire, new plumbing and heating then kitchen, bathrooms and an extension.

Still to do is a Porch rebuild, Garage Rebuild, terrace and landscape the huge garden, build the summer house, couple of retaining walls and create parking at the front, create a back yard just for the garage and pop a couple of sheds up

Luckily a good chunk of that is happening next few weeks

looks a good place to start.
one thing worth considering, would you ever want a 4 post lift in there?
if so get the groundwork done now, and make the roof high enough

It would be worth looking at ventilation at both ends of your garage. Helps with keeping things dry and getting rid of odours.

The old pit was dragged out today to make way for the Mechmate then spent the rest of the day moving the blocks closer to the job for the brickie to start on Tuesday

We are getting ever closer to being able to start building. I have some walls at least.

Still a long way to go, but I have made a few new purchases, starting with an ML7 lathe that the boss was most unimpressed with after I dragged her on a 400 mile round trip to collect

Also bought a new MIG, TIG and Plasma. Also have jenny roller and 20ton finger brake arriving soon
