what's the fastest you've ever driven?
So what's the fastest you've ever driven?
Not necessarily looking for where, what and when, more in how many have experienced seriously fast driving speeds.

185 for me, recorded on a GPS, though the bike was reading 192. Precious to that was 157.

I've ticked 130 but the needle read just under, that was all it had so I'll say 128. Having only ever done it once it was awesome the way
the centre line shot by so fast!

Personally driven at 135 on the clock of my SEAT, i loved that car
Fastest ive been in a car with someone else was 145 in a Mac1 running a very tuned redtop, i was in the passenger seat purely to read the speedo as my
chum wanted to know how fast it would go but really wanted to concentrate on the road rather than the speedo..........it was pretty uncomfortable
without a windscreen. Mind you, thats presuming the speedo was reading close to the truth, it felt unbelievably quick

Mind you, all that aside, i managed 88 mph in my 1st car, a 998cc completely standard very rusty mini with drum brakes & 10" rims, that was
more scary than either of the above....

240kph in a Seat Leon Cupra hire car on the A9 in Germany. It had a sticker on the dash saying "übersteigen Sie nicht 240kph" or similar.
I wasn't being good, it just wouldn't do any more!

reading 170 mph on a bike and 130 in a Skoda Suberb Diesel, All readings according to the vehicles own displays so open to much dispute. Fun tho

~175mph 928 porche S4, right up to the red line in top.
All you could here was the air rushing over the car, fantastic cars and cheap these days, I challenge you to buy something you can use every day for
£5000 that will go like these, it had 150,000 on the clock!
prior to that ~150mph in XJS jags and MR2 turbo, this stopped at the rev limiter but would have gone more.
~150mph 919 honda fireblade.

The highest speed I've been was 145mph on an RC30, I was still accelerating hard but 145 was showing the last time I looked at the clock

About 140 in a FTO MIVEC and SEAT Leon Cupra
Also 140 pillion on both 748 Ducati and GSXR 1000 K4
In a kit car probably about 120 in my MAC1, I guess only about a 100 in my RAW Striker.
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I don't like absolute speed really. I've driven at 130 and been driven at 165, but I don't find the experience much fun. In my road
car it feels planted and safe so it has no thrill, I much prefer fast corners and acceleration, I could stil below 70 all the time happily.

Approx 170, but how long have you done it for....
I did (alledgedly) the 110 miles to get to a certain port abroad in 50 mins - 135mph for nearly an hour

The BEC hit the red line at 120 so that's it for me. I once drove a Dodge Viper at 90 MPH on the rolling road we build for the factory. It
wasn't in a pit at the time. As the speed went up, the customer's backed away. Noise and rapidly rotating parts seemed a bit scary. Or
perhaps it was the exposed side pipes glowing white hot.
