Novice trackday/halfday
hello all,
have never done a full track day, odd laps at Donington, half a day at curborough and a sprint day at Barkston and would still very much consider
myself a novice.
i'm looking for a cheap (ish) half day track day where i could push the car a bit to get a better feel for it. and wondered if anyone had any
suggestions?
had looked at Blyton, and the tuition would be welcome, and the long run offs looked attractive :-)

Most track days allow a second driver so if you didn't want to hammer round all day you can share with a mate, assuming you trust them enough to
take care of the car.
For Blyton, Apex track days don't charge for the second driver but Javelin charge £20.

Blyton is a great starter circuit. I've only been there with Javelin and they are pretty well organised. Get talking to some of the other guys
there and most people are friendly enough and might take you out as a passenger so you can see the differences between your lines/breaking points and
theirs.

Get to Blyton, you will be sound, almost always instruction available there to.

Just booked Blyton for 31st March, few of us are heading over then so you will get a passenger ride-won't be as quick as the isonblade though!

Isn't Blyton a bit of a procession when you have lots of cars there? I went on a 4 person driver training day and it was great (well, the
weather was poo but that can't be helped), but would think having a lot of cars out wouldn't work so well?

It's not too bad but, like anywhere, it depends a lot on how much people watch their mirrors.
This VIDEO is from last year. I think there were about 40+ cars booked on. A lot were from Jap
car clubs and I expected some of the driving standards to be a bit iffy but they were great.
Nice little track with plenty of run off so you can push the limits pretty hard. Great place for a first track day; All the advantages of an airfield
but without the bumps, tyre wear and cones to follow.
