Minimum wheel offset I can get away with
Hi all,
Have an Indy R and am looking to get a second set of wheels for my wets.
Am running 13x7 Team Dynamics PR 1.2s at the moment - ET35 offset I think.
Just wanting to know if anyone has done the same thing, what is the minimum offset you can get away with without the wheels rubbing or sitting proud
of the arches front and rear?
Cheers,
Sean

Quite easy to work it out.
How close are your wheels to the arches at the moment?
Providing you keep the rim width the same, the amount you reduce the offset by will move the wheel/tyre out towards the outer arch the same amount.
Increase the offset and i will pull the wheel inwards.
If you reduce the width of the rim you can increase the offset even further, (12.5mm for every inch you reduce the width by)
With kit cars is hard to give a universal answer as there are so many build tolerances.

http://www.willtheyfit.com is possibly the easiest way of visualising, without any calculations lol

Depending what size rear tyres your running, your options are very limited, I ran a 225 rear tyres on my Indy R, on a ET35 7" rim, but had to
trim down the lip on the rear arches, but now you can buy extra wide arches from MK, then you can reduce you ET, even fit 8" rims, best to speak
to Danny at MK if you go this route, he will be able to advise you of your options
