Zetec SE / sigma temp sensor position

I am about to install my 1.7 zetec se in my car and need to plumb in two water temp sensors (ecu and dash).

I have had to replace the water manifold on the back of the head to get better bulkhead clearance so do not have a port there. I will also not have a heater. So which is the best pipe to put the two sensors in (in inline adaptors) - the small pipe from the thermostat housing to the back of the head (small, heater bypass pipe), the Rad to thermostat housing pipe (large) or Rad to back of head pipe (large)?

It will be plumbing it in something like this - http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=123478 - third post diagram

Thanks in advance.

On my Riot (1.25 SE) I needed to connect the heater pipes together so I used the Ford KA heater hose because it has a temperature sensor hole, which on the KA is used for the temp gauge. It's working sucessfully on mine to feed the gauge.

The sensor in the block feeds the ECU.

Many thanks guys, good info on the ford ka pipe, will look into that.

I have the shawspeed low profile water manifold that replaces the ford one that the coil pack sits on, this gets the engine about another 100mm Bach in the car (Anglia). This has a large inlet from for the pipe from the Rad and a tapped hole which can either take a sensor (leaving no connection for the mall heater pipe) or a screw in pipe connector. Pic below

So I will put two sendor adaptors in the heater pipe from the manifold above to the thermostat connector in the side of the block.

Thanks again.
