Hi all,

Has anyone found a fiberglass / GRP dash panel that fits the standard Haynes, something like this???

Bit of plywood and black vinyl and make your own. Mine cost me a day and £20 (excluding gauges, lamps etc.)

I made the bottom edge radius using 2 strips of pine quadrant glued together. The Vinyl then wrapped over the whole lot.

Pity there isn't a way, without silly costs, to take the aluminum I have made and have it look like the gloss the carbon ones etc

I made mine from waterproof MDF board and wrapped in carbon. As for the padding under the dash I made some rounded fibre glass panels and covered with a sleeping mat from millets and covered with vinyl.

Explanation in my build blog http://www.martinsfurybuild.co.uk/interior.html

Just wrap it in 3M carbon lookalike wrap. Cheap and simple, and looks fairly plausible. Various qualities of the stuff available on ebay etc - 3M Di-Noc is probably the best but also the most expensive. This looks cheap and potentially ok:

What about a sheet of carbon look ABS backed by thin ply. Switches moon tend in the plastic with the ply cleared away behind. Bottom edge could be warmed up and curved over suitable pipe

I used the 6D stuff the above ebay seller has listed, it does seem to be pretty good quality and appearance, but i have not really used it on any compound curves so can't really comment on how well it takes a form.
