Looks like you have got the track day bug now Joel, lets hope for another day like Rockingham, and come on Tony get yourself booked on in the morning.

JoelP - 18/1/06 at 09:29 AM

the missus tells me she's booked that week off for a holiday, looks like she's going to be disapointed! Or i can make up by swooshing her off abroad on monday

are there any garages at cadwell?!

OH hell will have to get the car ready now.

There is now only 14 places left.

IM IN could not resist a day at cadwell for that price.

See you all there.

Tony.

PAUL FISHER - 18/1/06 at 11:46 PM

Nice one Tony, your arm never takes much twisting, anymore going to join us,you no who you are

Jon Ison - 18/1/06 at 11:56 PM

Be careful out there.. Cadwell bites back,

well suited too BECS, plenty of late braking twisty on/off camber steep uphill downhill hilly hairpin thingies with a few short straight thingies in between.....

Have fun, jealous of chesterfield.

mk blade - 19/1/06 at 05:18 PM

Nice description of the track there jon.

And yes I know cadwell can bite seen many a car going in.

Think I will be taking things a little steady to start, especially down the woodland section at this time of year.

Tony.

Jon Ison - 19/1/06 at 07:48 PM

IMHO Cadwell as everything you want in a track, apart from the run off as mentioned, the "woodland" section will be slippy and the top of the mountain loves half shafts..........

btw, there's very little run off

That M3 sounds sweet, nice bit of driving too, timed his lap at 1.46 seconds, how does that compare with RGB's Jon.

Jon Ison - 19/1/06 at 10:12 PM

slow........

About 9 secs off the pace.

with the thight bends the BEC accleration thrives at cadwell.

JoelP - 19/1/06 at 10:39 PM

that track looks lethal hope i get my pedals sorted in time, at rockingham i was having trouble avoiding the accelerator when braking, i ended up a long way onto the green at one point! (like 75 yard overshoot on the hairpin!)

Phil. S - 19/1/06 at 11:24 PM

Cadwell is the best. I did my first track day in my Westfield there. Not really the place to learn how your car handles, but I had a lot of fun trying. Just didn't have the courage to take the first bend flat out. But it's a 5 hour drive up to the track for me. A bit much in the winter! Whoever goes will have an outstanding time. Guranteed! (I'm very jelous.)

Yes,may not sound alot 9 seconds, but on track that would mean a RGB would have made the lenght of the start finish straight in the 1st lap, against a 50 grand M3 CSL will be interesting to see what sort of times,we mere mortals can do,not that you are allowed to time your runs on track days, but we are allowed, video camera's

JoelP - 3/2/06 at 10:43 PM

is there a guide for this anywhere? i cant find details of when you are meant to arrive etc.

skydivepaul - 3/2/06 at 10:53 PM

Cadwell is brill.
Watch your step as has already been pointed out on this thread but dont be daunted by it.
Take your time and build up your speed, usually half way round the first lap for me.

You'll soon be taking coppice FLAT. I've seen it done but i've not had the bottle to do it. I always try but the survival instinct always calls for a lift how ever slight it might be.
Enjoy

Wish i could come but our lass is ready to drop this weekend so i think i'd be in the dog house if i buggered off and left her with the new baby

JoelP - 3/2/06 at 11:54 PM

flat out in mine isnt as fast as it sounds! 100 with a tail wind... I got through the chicane at the end of the straight at rockinham just by lifting.

Simon - 4/2/06 at 02:11 AM

Only ever done the "short" circuit at Cadwell and that was on bikes.

Thoroughly enjoyed it - even though it was 15 years ago
