r1 dynojet queries
Dillinger1977 - 27/5/07 at 02:48 PM

just fitting a dynojet kit and before I do something drastic just checking to see if i've got this right:

1 - I've swapped the needles to the dynojet ones and am supposed to block one of these air holes. does it matter which one?

2 - Also got to block one of these.. im guess its #1 but just want to check.

3 - also, whats a decent starting point for settings, assuming a panel air filter and a 4-1 exhaust?
i've gone for 144 mains and the needles on the 3rd groove down for now..

4 - am I right in thinking this -shouldnt- affect Emissions? I thought I read somewhere the dynojet stuff doesnt affect idle at all.

cheers for any advice!

I was told by MNR that fitting jet kit before sva is a no go

It doesn't matter which hole on the slide you block.

It's hole number 1 that you have to block.

I can't think why you can't have a dynojet for SVA. There was plenty of adjustment on the idle screws for me. The main jet doesn't really affect a 2500 RPM idle and you could always lean off the needle if that was causing trouble.

1- Doesn't matter which one.

2- I would agree #1 the brass one that has no slot for a screwdriver that's the one I did! You could always give TTS a ring tue to double check!

3- If you do a search on Yahoo bec list it was discussed in detail a couple of years ago! Personally I think you will find 144 mains to big.

4- Not sure on this one?

I put 144s on mine and it ran OK. when I got it rolling roaded, I had to put 150s on.

Hi Rog,

Hadnt noticed your thread and posted much the same - doh

Im in a very smiliar situation to yourself.

Mines running waaaay lean with open filter and race can.

Im going to order the kit and kick off with the 144s I think

sorry not been about much, incredibly busy at work (so much so that i've had to postpone retest as I'm currently working 13 hour days and have no weekend. joy!)

on the positive side, the cat I ordered from ebay USA arrived and looks rather tidy. 52 quid all in, happy enough with that
now i'd got to get it welded on and get a few trips to the local MOT booked!
I'll post updates if I ever see the outside of this office again.

What cat did you order Rog?

Linky?

Cheers bud and let us know how you get on when it arrives...

Chris.

If I'm going to get my car rolling roaded at TTS or PDQ am I better off letting them do the business with the dynojet or fitting it initially myself?

Looks all right. Is that 2" ID or OD? If it is 2" OD then it will slip into your manifold and silencer.
