Am i right in thinking that if my indicators stick out as far as they do in the picture nothing gets checked for radius in the suspension area or have i got it all wrong?

depends I supose on the shape of the cone, would have thought it's ok

saying that, some of the indicators edges look quite sharp

ok looks fine

sightly concerened with how high the front wings are mounted going by that bracket their outside the picture!

Question is, would that sustain an impact?

Why not just file down the sharp edges anyway? Any inspector in the country is probably going to check anyway! I think you only really get away with it is if you had welded tubes on to the chassis that covered the area...There is a photo of someone who did this on the site somewhere.....Oli.

IMHO that's not structurally strong enough to exempt the area behind from testing.

It's not that difficult to make the suspension area's etc SVA compliant

I am doing similar and hope to be sva'd about January (ish). Here are some photo's so far.

I have mounted it through the sides on rubber grommets to protect the fibre glass and bolted it to the top lip of the nose intake hole. The cut outs just inside of the nose are there for 2 reasons, first so that I can get the electrics in and out, but also so that should I ever hit something that hard then the bar should fold/deform just inside of the noise thereby reducing the amount of damage done to the nose cone. All I have left to do on it is glue the conduit in place on the nose cone roof and then make the grille and fit it. Then the nose can be refitted to the car, IF I can prise it out of the arm chair.

At SVA this year they didn't check behind my indicators as your original question asked. I covered the sharp edges etc anyway so I don't think it would have mattered either way.
