Rear uprights on backwards
Slimy38 - 19/7/14 at 09:09 PM

Is there any problem from using rear uprights the wrong way round, IE left to right and vice versa? I'm using this as a basis for my rear suspension;

But as far as I can tell the brake caliper fixings are on the back, which means the uprights have been swapped. The calipers would still be the right way up.

Thats the same as my westy setup - no problems with the ones on the road.

Excellent, thanks! That solves two problems at once!

The only drawback although minimal, is PMOI is bigger.
I wouldn't concern too much.

Well it's my Westy in the pic

The uprights are indeed swapped left to right. As far as I can tell Westfield did it this way for no other reason than to improve the routing of the handbrake cables.

And a nice Westfield it is too!

The reason I think I can see is the positioning of the coilover. With them swapped over the coilover then ends up in front of the upright, so the top fixing is on the crossbar. If it had been the right way round, the coilover would be further back.

Good to hear the handbrake routing is improved as well though.

What is PMOI?

The People's Mojahedin of Iran or the Mojahedin-e-Khalq (PMOI) is an Iranian leftist revolutionary organization that participated in the 1979 Revolution that overthrew the Pahlavi Shah. Following this, conflict with Ayatollah Khomeini led MEK to start an open war, and most of its members fled abroad. It is now an opposition movement in exile that advocates the overthrow of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Though we would all know that being car builders......

Fcuk!! Delete "Polar"... it is Moment of Inertia....
Moment Of Inertia.
Is the resistance of an object to start spinning when you apply a force to it and or the resistance to stop it from turning.
EG: it is easier to spin a 20 kg Dumbbell than to spin a 20 kg Barbell.
That is even they are the same weight, the mass is further away from the Center of Gravity (CG)
Must have been the Tepache....
