Hi all
Brought this a few months ago as a cheap project, however my engine of choice needs a little to much work for it to fit so i am offering it up for
sale. I have used a part of the front chassis to repair another kit car so this section will not come with it, its the top let rail hence no longer
being registered.
The car is unregistered and needs quite a bit of work to get it back in shape, some of the front fiberglass has been chopped away and the steering
rack mounts have been moved. The chassis is in great condition!
The car is complete however with nearly all parts there to put back togther.
See attached pics, first few show how it started and all the parts are still there:

May sell the parts seperatly if no interest.

Although to be fair, it is entirely possible that two Dutton shells were made in the same colour, fitted with the same wheels, drilled for the same fittings, adorned with the same stickers, and painted in exactly the same way. It could happen......

It looks like a hybrid between a Dutton Melos rear end and a Dutton Phaeton S4 front end.
I am not surprised that the chassis is ok they are very substantial, the early ones show some heritage with the Lotus Sevens. And frankly i dont
believe the chassis has lost its identity because you fitted the front to another car because your selling most of it and the front of a Dutton is so
unique it would only be of any use on another Dutton. More likely you are using the log book for your own build to avoid the IVA and some of the new
laws on lights, seatbelts, windows, mirrors etc.
If you want a car registered as a Dutton then drive a Dutton they are very good cars when built properly and still competitive on club events, if you
want a Locost then do it legally and prove to us all your up to the job.
Just take a look at the kits tax disc, I bet there's loads of westys etc saying dutton on the tax disc
