Pinto Engine lift "brackets"
karlak - 2/3/10 at 12:52 PM

Is it worth trying to source the Pinto Brackets to lift a Pinto? I guess it gives a more secure hoist point.

IIRC they stick up over the engine so the bonnet hits them so you have to take them off anyway.

If you know anyone who can make them (boggle ) I can supply you with templates.

As above they stick up above the cam cover but are quite handy for pulling the engine out or puttong it in. If you search for them on ebay they will probably be called lifting eyes, shouldn't cost a lot.

i made some nice mirror polished stainless ones, but as said they go above the bonnet line....

they are sitting on my bench gathering dust....

Only need them for a Pinto transplant - So will be removed afterwards. Will check on Ebay - Ta

They bolt to the manifold bolts and don't go anywhere near the bonnet, the rocker and cam cover is higher.
