Show us your scoops!
pick - 20/2/08 at 09:42 AM

Hi, the filters on my car are currently sticking through the bonnet (using the original velocity stacks) However I would now like to fit some shorter stacks and lower filters so that I can fit a bonnet (bulge/scoop). If you have any pictures of your bonnet scoops I would be very grateful to see them so I can decide with route to go down !
Cheers
Shaw

Mine's made to cover the Weber downdraft carb filter poking through the bonnet...

Mitsi Trojan scoop (okay, a copy of it )

Jasper - 20/2/08 at 12:41 PM

I like the scoop but it was a very unreasonable £80...which i think is very expensive...but i had no choice as my engine sticks through bonnet!

looks great but £80 is harsh

Krismc - 20/2/08 at 03:48 PM

yea considering i thought the engine would be under bonnet and not through it!!

build a car from £1750....ha ha £20k later and i failed my SVA!

thats great cheers, I really didn't want to have anything on the bonnet but I don't really have a choice.
Krismc, like the look of the intake on your car, where is it available from please?

p.s. heres a pic of my car so you know what I am wittering on about..

Jasper - 21/2/08 at 10:11 AM

You're gonna need more than those subtle scoops if you want to get those filters under, they must stick out 5 or 6 inches .....

pick - 21/2/08 at 03:02 PM

As I said above, I’m going to fit shorter velocity stacks and lower filters.

Dale - 21/2/08 at 03:21 PM

Instead of shortening the intakes, how about doing a black mesh bump over them as per the donkervorts

I market a few different scoops, the one pictured is actually for a 427 Cobra but looks nice on a Locost (couldn't find a pic of one installed). Rescued attachment DSCF0230.JPG

The WWW button at the bottom of his posting might be a clue...

Bit far to post, though...

HI all

Does anyone know where I can get a Cobra scoop from the UK?

James

RK - 28/2/08 at 12:51 PM

Look up Pilgrim Sumo. They have them as an option on their Cobra packages.

Rogue Se7ens - 28/2/08 at 03:08 PM

I would like to know how much you can pick up a Cobra scoop in the UK so I can compare to what I offer and shipping (the exchange is def. in you favor). Are you looking for one in carbon or glass?

jamestziros - 3/3/08 at 03:25 PM

cheers, looking for glass scoop - will be paint.

Rogue Se7ens - 4/3/08 at 06:51 AM

jamestziros, I could get you a glass Cobra scoop with postal delivery for $80.00 US. E-mail me if you are interested, also I would be interested to see what the same goes for there.

2b_pablo - 4/3/08 at 08:28 AM

how much for the carbon one?

RK - 4/3/08 at 01:01 PM

Also check EBay. they are very cheap there.

Rogue Se7ens - 4/3/08 at 02:40 PM

I ask $125.00 for the carbon, plus shipping which would probably be around $15.00 to UK.

iiyama - 5/3/08 at 08:02 AM

Mine. Probably take a mould before I fit it and make it from pre-preg.....
