insurance???
drummerboymike - 5/7/09 at 06:05 PM

Currently i am 15 and i'm hugely into kit cars. Just wondering if anybody knew the cheapest insurance companies for kit cars for a just passed 18 year old. Also i'm presuming that the insurance will be cheaper if i start by putting a small engine in and slowly building up to bigger engines.

Thanks mike

Try 2gether (sticky at the top of this thread).

I'm with Sureterm Direct. I pay £135 a year for a £7.5k car / 7,000 miles. But then I am an old git!

Cheers

Mike

When i was 19 i bought a westfield with 1700x-flow.
Insurance was £300/annum with FJ.

Something like the 900cc engine from a Fiesta might be what you're after. Same bellhousing as 99% of Fords so easy to find a RWD gearbox.
And a snotter donor car (for engine only) would be a couple of quid on ebay. I'm talking 'A' reg type of Fiesta that Steve (Trueblue) is using for his car.

Hope that helps,
James
