Hi all,
I am ringing around for some quotes as I will be hopefully driving the car very soon.
20 years old
Had clean license for over 3 years
Good postcode area
Car is an MK Indy R1
3000 miles pa
I am putting my mum and dad on as well as named drivers
So far:
Adrian Flux: £740 (£450 excess)
MSM: No quote for under 21s
Footman James: £412.65 (£350 excess uk+eu breakdown cover, legal cover and european travel)
Sureterm: Didn't even want to try and beat the above offer, after he heard my d.o.b.!
Graham Sykes: Heard my age and immediately said I would be looking around £800
2gether: Won't quote until I am 21
I will update the list above with any more quotes I get today (waiting for a call back from 2gether). Who else do you think I should ring?
James

Footman James have always been good for me
This is a great idea, it will be interesting to see the best (and worst!) quotes :-)
Si.
If 2gether ever ring me back that is!
footman james sounds ok after all your only 20 and your insuring a high performance car, if you can do without the breakdown cover you might scrape £350

quite impressed for ya to be honest mate - £412 for an R1 powered sports car at the age of 20 is great! Think I paid £408 for a 2.0 mondeo tdci at the age of 22 and thats with 5 years ncb on a 2 year old car with 115bhp!
Yeah, its crazy how some insurance companies think - any normal hatch and I would really be stung by the insurance, yet an R1 indy is on another
planet performance wise!
The insurance as a named driver on the old beemer is way more than my quote for the MK.
