What car?

sister in law (28, passed test the week before) has just bought a really clean Skoda Felicia 1.6 - comes to c. 950/yr - was the same price to insure as most of the 1.1s she really wanted (Saxo, 106 etc)

All done through one of the price comparison websites - none of the brokers really managed to beat them...

Tell her to start saving now for the big increase next year when they have to quote male and females equally. Always found with my missus the people not on confused etc are the best eg direct line , norwich union (Aviva)

Second Admiral multicar - 22 yo daughter 1 years NCD 1998 Fiesta 1.25 including travel to work and business use £350 fully comp. Only cost an additional £70 to add her younger sister aged 19 (just passed her test) on for 7 months.

I cannot remember who my 19yo is with now, but for a mini1 it was around £800 p.a with no no-claims

She was originally with a girls only policy, but crashed that one so lost her first years NCB.

You need to have a good phone around, some cars that you would think are expensive turn out not to be, also adding a second driver, you can save hundreds, started off at £2000 originally you need to work that phone.

Good luck

25yr Daughters, you guys make me feel young. Me and my wife are 28!

She is with diamond pays about £400 for a 206 diesel, quite a few NCD but she has pretty much always been with them so must be quite good.

Have a look on Parkers guide for Insurance group numbers. It has them listed so you get some idea of what cars are cheap and what are expensive.
