Except that all the profits go to Children in Need.

25% to children in need actually,not all profit.

That's a good % though to give to charity.

Still way overpriced IMO,especially seeing as the North one is not even at a race track.Thought it was a bit crap when it moved to cholmondley castle from oulton,but this year is even worse for car action.

As long as they give free entry to us Kitcar owners otherwise they won't get many kitcars

I listened to the show and i suspect it will end up as a presentation of a few top end/bigger boys manufacturers.

The high price no doubt relates to the famous singers/groups I would guess.

Trouble is calling it carfest should mean it's mainly about cars IMO

I wonder what percentage will go to the boss who runs the charity, you can guarantee he will be on a stupid salary.

No,but have spoke to someone that went to it at Oulton Park and they said it wasn't worth the ticket price,and only a average day out.
So when it moved to Cholmondley Castle it went down hill for car related action,now this year it's at a castle that I've never heard of mentioned in the car/motorsport scene and I'm only 35 miles from it.
So I dare say the car action will be even lower

I have been, with my family (wife and four kids), on two separate dates to CarFest south. It's a music festival with cars....hence the name, its not a car show. We had a great time and if the timing was right I would more than happily go again

I have been to music festivals (without cars) that cost more and some that cost less, some were good some were not so good. None give millions to Children in Need, not all are suitable for children which CarFest very much is. 25% of the ticket goes to Children in Need plus any further profits from running the event. Price is set by demand and demand is very high.

Any car clubs can apply to display cars there, the year I went they had loads from an MX5 club plus a good turnout from a Mini club and a few more clubs I now can't remember. No kitcar clubs had applied to go.

Displaying a car has to be prearranged as the size of the sites are limited and they would need to control entry....that's just common sense!

Some petrol head friends went to Carfest North last year 'at a castle that I've never heard of' and thought it was fantastic, really had a good time and loved the venue

At the end of the day well done to Steve Hole for getting on the Radio (talking about the Stoneleigh show not CarFest) and I hope he does get there with a couple of good example kit cars to show off what is still made in Britian

It's about disposable income, trying buying a house down here

I showed my car at one s few years ago, still put £100 in the pot as it is for charity, someone is making good money as all the exhibits including the music is for free

If he arranges events like this and makes the charity some real money, why do you say "stupid" salary ? It could be argued successfully that he gets paid what he's worth..

In my opinion you're paying for a cheap music festival with the bonus there will be some cars to look at!
All depends what floats your boat but compared to the price of the likes of Vee its very reasonable without the profits going to Mr Branston!
