Limited mileage insurance and trackdays

Hi all.
My insurance is limited mileage to 3k but I want to do track days this year. Now my insurance does not cover track day mileage so I am thinking that the mileage done while on private ground uninsured should not count towards my limited mileage. especially if I log the before and after mileage.

I hate insurance companies and the way they bully road users by dictating to us cheat or flease us any way they can. So my gut feeling is that although Im not covered by them they will still count the mileage covered although it's nothing to do with them.

Incase it matters I'm with Frank Pickles.
Anybody had any experience with this matter or can give me any advice.

Thanks for your help, roll on the summer!

they will if you have a crash. They will check MOT's etc.

They want your money when you are buying, and when you are claiming they will do anything to swerve having to cough up what you have paid for.

Last year when I renewed my insurance it turned out that I was a handfull of miles over my 3000 and it cost me about £30. I tried arguing that I'd done a lot of the miles on track days where the insurance didn't cover me so why do those miles count towards my limit... Might has well have saved my breath!

They will have a job, my car is 3 years old in September, so no MOT's

Thanks for all the info peps.

I think I will contact them and check becasue they actually were really nice to deal with and the cheapest. THey can only say no but if they said yes I would have no probelms then!!

I had trouble keeping under 3K last year and I want to do more track days this year.

I would love to use this car for track only but one of the reasons I was 'allowed' to get it was for the summer road driving. Well to be honest I think to use these cars on track only is only half of its use. You simply cant beat drivng on a sunny sunday afternnon in the country or to and from the track for a ragging!!!!

Is that a bit contriversual (SP)?
