How much is 'I don't like the price'? I went with AF and was quoted £80 for up to £8000 which includes accidental damage - so 1% of
the value.
Like you say some specialist companies don't or won't quote for build up cover. Its just a case of trying them all. Worth checking as
some told me that once the chassis is rolling it 'may' need to go on as road risks as it is now possible for the enterprising scum bag to
push it away! In its state as boxes of bits and chassis only there is not much risk to the insurer - no more than any other garage I guess.
I found Clare at A-Plan very helpful.

I use MSM and they were roughly 1% too and also include moving the car by trailer.

The other point is that where is your kit (chassis or car) kept? If its stored in a garage away from your home address ie. lock up in another part of
town or mates garage the premium will be based on the cars location not your home address so if the storage area has a higher rate of garage break ins
than where you live the premium may well be higher.
Just a thought

cheers guys - if 1% is the going rate then maybe AF aren't as bad as I thought (just over 1%)
as for the location - its not at my house, but its actually a cheaper area for insurance

Hi,
If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to take a look at it to see if there is anything more we can do.
Regards,
Dan.
