Oddly enough I was looking through the compare sites to get my SAAB re-insured and was having the same surprise as you up from £240 to around £340

Mine's gone up by 20 quid which doesn't sound bad, but when you consider that it's supposed to be coming down with every passing
year - I'm 23 - and it's still at over £500 for a Micra, not best pleased.
Nothing you can do about it except ask your existing insurer to match your current year's policy, assuming you haven't stuffed the car
anywhere in the past twelve months. They'll offer you a 10 percent discount.

My saab 95 fully comp (Im 37 with clean licence and full no claims etc) went from 440 to 775 in november !!!!
After a question on here a few months back i was pointed to Swift cover, they quoted 460 with breakdown cover so i renewed with them, maybe worth you
trying them, no one else came close due to the apparent 40% increase across the board !! Robbing shysters !
Swift cover would have been even less but i added hire car & legal cover options, thats also with the extra few quid to pay monthly too so if you
have the cash in the bank to pay straight away in full, it would come down even moe.
Good luck

Wait till the end of the month, Quotes tend to be higher at the start and then they drop later in the month to hit their required quota!

Around 40% is about the same as mine. I shopped around and they all came back saying it was due to last years snow losses.

After waiting in a queue with my old company to discuss the stupidly high increase in my renewal, i was told by the recorded voice that calls are
recorded for training purposes, needless to say my 1st words when i got through to a human were "Right, start recording now, this is going to be
good for you training purposes" poor guy didnt know what to say

My Focus (2.0L Auto) went up £80 with swift cover, so got a better deal with Admiral, effectively the same cost as last years.
Then upgraded the policy to multicar with the wifes too, saved a further £90 bringing mine to £360 for the year fully comp with business miles and the
wifes Fiesta ghia 1.6L auto to £180 fully comp. pretty cheap given all the other quotes we had. (were both 37).

Seems all the main companies are really taking the mick with their premium increases. I have been an advocate of searching for the best deals on the
web for years now, but i think sometimes today some of the smaller specialists can give better deals if you give them a call. I insured my Skyline R33
GTR that i bought in November and got it for £590 fully comp which seems a bargain compared to some of the figures quoted on here for everyday
tintops. I am 40 and got full NCD but it is with all mods and 650+ bhp declared.

last 3 years.......62.

that sounds a lot! I have a classic policy with Peter James. As many classics as I like up to a total of 30K, unlimited mileage and euro breakdown all
in for £96 last summer. It had gone up by £4. Plus no loading for minor mods like 1500 engine as opposed to 1300 (in fact delightful to speak directly
to somebody who actually understands and can make decisions like that)
when I asked about insuring my Zetec spitfire when it is built they reckoned a loading, 25-50%. So maybe £150 for the 2 cars. Nice.

I recently had to change insurance companies as they put mine up £1000!!!! I had not made any claims or anything in this time the only thing that had
changed is my age (i was a year older )
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I'm paying just over £800 for a group 46 car (they're now 1-50 and not 1-20) with modifications and over 500bhp (Audi RS6)
The change of group structure has been accused of why some people have had increases, and others have not.

My insurance on a Clio 197 Cup dropped by £250 in September, down from £900 to £650, which includes my fiance (22 with license for 2 years) as an
additional driver, bargain in my eyes!
CliftyHanger, your classic policy seems very cheap! I use Peter Best for my E34 518, 1500 annual mileage limit, Extra legal cover, european breakdown
cover and cover for 'use off the public highway' and that was about £150.

Up from £440 last year to £635 this renewal.
After I called them they agreed it was too high so they dropped it to £489.
Worth a phone call !

You mean after a call they realised they had been caught trying to rip you off! It really angers me that they try this on every year - insurance
companies should automatically be offering their clients the best price without all this hassle.
