Great offers, but I can't

Direct Line are offering 52 days free cover, great. Offer ends end of this month, bad, as my insurance isn't up until october.

I can understand being excluded on offers based on ncd, or my age, or even points but by when I last bought insurance? Surely this should be something they have to run for 12 months.. Who would I go to about this as I feel it's somewhat of a con seeing as (theoretically) running an offer for 3 months excludes 75% of the population on the basis of timing, I mean it's not like I can cancel one to get the other and save money

Or its 52 free days based on the 12 month price.
ie its a discount worth 52 day free if you take out a years insurance.

Be assured they WONT let you have 52 free days without paying, and then let you go.

Its a plain and simple sales hook.

It's not a con. They are offering a discount under certain conditions which you can't meet (or don't want to ). Don't see where the beef is.

This is my point, I can understand not meeting conditions like I'm not over 50, or I have points on my licence, or even that I'm not a woman, but to not meet criteria on the basis of what time of year I bought my car? Not really fair is it?
