A good result from insurance
After I had an accident in my Indy in April, I was pretty certain my insurance would shoot through the roof and I wouldn't be able to afford to
run it when it was repaired (I'm 21).
For my first year I was paying £950ish, me being the policy holder with mum and dad on it too, limited mileage of 1500 pa and I could build up a no
claims bonus too. (Adrian Flux)
After the accident, I phoned my insurer same day and admitted fault. I also admitted fault to the other driver I bumped into and the police. But.....
when I got my renewal quote last week, it was £850!
For some reason, the claim is still pending, and as long as I renew by Monday, its going to be that for the next year
Before I start ringing around other insurers to get more quotes, what would happen to the pending claim on the quotes other insurers might give me? I
am guessing I do, but would I have to mention the pending claim, as according to Adrian Flux, I am not yet at fault?

You have to legally tell them about any accidents fault or not, pending or not. Its then up to them if it changes anything

You should really tell them. The problem being is that if you dont know the amounts involved and details they make them up!
I had an argument with one guy on the phone when trying to get insurance because he demanded to know costs for repairs and detials of my previous
accidents. Unfortunatly it is a company car and my fleet manager deals with all of that guff, I just simply dont know the details. The guy just made
up the details and suprise suprise . . . sky high quote!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
