setting a sky remote.
Does anyone on here know how to reprogram the Tv settting on a sky remote? I want to be able to use the volume buttons but they don't work so
I'm always having to get up and get the other remote.

lol yes. its dead easy, but you need to know the right code for your telly. once you know the code (4 digit number) you press the TV button, then the
red button and select button together til the light on the remote flashes twice. type in the number (sometimes the light will flash again twice now,
or after the next step), then press select (some flash twice now instead of after ttyping the number) press sky button and you're done.
wouldn't know the number for the telly though.. go through the interactive button and theres instructions there, or search the interweb

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If it's the same as cable, it won't work if you are just using HDMI rather than scart

I have a 12 month old TV and a 6 year old sky package and for it to work I'll need to buy a Version 8 or above sky remote or it won't take
my TVs code.
If you are having trouble getting it to enter then I suggest you check this out. The version number is under the battery cover on the remote, my 6
year old one is version 5
I've been meaning to get one, only for 12 months now..........................

^ ooh a very good point, it'll say rev 8 or rev 6 for example. also, on some newer controls, the instructions are on a label in the battery
cover, and if it ever did control the volume, the installer may have written the code in there for you
